The springtime is filled with new beginnings and plenty of progress. Between projects, House of Blum, personal life, & finding inspiration around every corner, I wanted to share the happenings at the studio!
We're so fortunate to be working on dream projects and working with a few past clients on new projects- thats always a treat! Here's a little glimpse into a few of the projects we're working on and exciting new things to look forward to!
Before & After at a Remodel
A beautiful before and into the progress stage! This traditional primary suite has a flair of transitional elements and we just love the way its coming together. Our clients wanted classic touches so it blended with the rest of their home. White cabinets paired with black and white marble checkered floors were some of the first design elements we selected. The wallpaper was also a focal point we worked around. From there, we layered brass light fixtures and beautiful hardware.
The next step for this project was adding window treatments and soft goods to the bedroom- bedding, pillows, benches, and wallpaper! We offer Hunter Douglas window treatments and love the way they layer warmth into rooms. How beautiful is this woven shade paired with a custom plaid roman shade?
#PrettyProvençal Updates
One of our new construction projects, #PrettyProvençal, is moving right along and it's so fun to see how everything is coming together. For full-service new construction projects, we present furniture around the drywall stage. Although, it's thought about by designers at the very beginning of the project, it can be a lot of a client to take it all in. By this stage, it allows time for it to arrive and then we install right before our clients move in. It's a smooth process & anticipates that big reveal! We love the blue tones and natural, but elegant finishes selected.
Our clients love a serene, calming backdrop, so whimsical fabrics paired with classics is the direction we went.
#MindYourManor Trim Details we LOVE
This home is filled with amazing trimwork! From different ceiling designs to beautiful custom millwork, we are serious fans! This project is with K&V homes and we're loving the way it's coming together. Next up, we're finalizing furniture plans!
An Accessorizing Story: Layering in your keepsakes with fresh fun decor!
Did you know we accessorize at MBI? We loved helping this client out with a little refresh! Fresh, new decor mixed in with our clients special items they have collected made this a recipe for success! The colorful statements are perfect for spring and summer.
Outdoor Sofa (of our dreams) Delivery
Furniture is one of our specialties and we love finding the perfect piece for each person we work with! We always have a fun project in the works with this client and for this season, she wanted a new outdoor sofa! Performance outdoor fabrics make this one a worry-free piece when it comes to spills or stains. Another plus, it's pet friendly! We love her new pup, Archie!
Making a house a home with new furniture & lighting!
Our clients moved into their new construction dream home a year ago and and came to us wanting new furniture and more designer-feeling elements incorporated. We first switched out the main level light fixtures, then furniture, and now are doing the finishing pieces, like window treatments, wallpaper, and accessories. Check out the before and after photos below of a simple light fixture swap. Larger scale and a tiered effect chandelier is both beautiful and relaxing!
The Garage Project @ the Blum Tudor
As a designer, there's always a project going on at my home! Big or small, I love having. my hands (and eyes) in a new, inspiring space to design. Last year, we began our garage/pool house project. We live in a Tudor-style home that is over 100 years old. Modern-day luxuries, like a garage, were necessary in our remodel, but put on the backburner. We finally got around to building our new garage and decided to stick a pool house on the upper level of it. We don't have generous guest space when people come to stay with us, so we added a bedroom and bathroom. We also are using it as a pool house with a full kitchen and bar. We will be photographing the outside this summer so stay tuned!
Cheers!
