For Meghan, interior design has always been about so much more than creating beautiful spaces. It's about the people who live in them, the memories made within them, and the way a thoughtfully designed home can make everyday life a little better. With a passion for design and a dream of building something of her own, Meghan founded Meghan Blum Interiors in 2015.
Over the years, she's built a team and a network of talented architects, builders, and craftsmen who share her love for beautiful design and the relationships behind it. Known for her eye for detail, ability to blend styles, and approachable personality, Meghan loves getting to know her clients and creating homes that feel uniquely theirs. She considers it a gift to be invited into someone's home and trusted to help shape the spaces where life happens. And while she loves exploring new ideas and inspiration, there's one thing she'll always believe: classic black and white will never go out of style.

DANIELLE BOWER
INTERIOR DESIGNER
Danielle believes a home should be a reflection of the people who live in it, filled with meaningful details, collected pieces, and layers that evolve over time. A graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in Interior Design, her experience has taken her from studying abroad in Rome to interning in Southern California, shaping her love for spaces that tell a story. An avid traveler and collector of vintage and antique maps, she loves bringing pieces of her family's adventures into her own home. Outside of design, you'll find her traveling with her husband and kids, cheering from the sidelines at softball games and Ninja Warrior competitions, or rooting for her beloved Iowa State Cyclones.
APRIL DURHAM
INTERIOR DESIGNER
April's story with MBI started long before she joined the team, when she and Meghan were roommates while studying abroad in Rome, Italy. Originally from Northern Iowa, April graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Interior Design before heading to Chicago to work for an international architecture firm. Her love of architecture and experience with a variety of design styles eventually led her back to residential design when Meghan introduced the opportunity to work on MBI's custom home projects. She loves building relationships with clients and creating homes that feel layered, comfortable, and uniquely theirs. Outside of design, April is usually enjoying the outdoors with her husband and two kids, finding their next family adventure, or cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones at a basketball game.
ANNA NEWBROUGH
INTERIOR DESIGNER
Anna's love for interiors started young, growing up surrounded by her mom's collection of blue-and-white ginger jars. That early interest led her to Iowa State University, where she earned her degree in Interior Design, and later to Rome, Italy, where she studied abroad and found an even deeper appreciation for timeless, classic design. With a love for rich color, styling, and the little details that make a space feel personal, Anna is always on the hunt for that final piece that brings a room together. Outside of the studio, she's usually spending time with family and friends, planning her next adventure, or hanging out with her Italian Greyhound, Elio.
ALLY MADDEN
INTERIOR DESIGNER
Ally's love for interiors started young, rearranging furniture and watching HGTV instead of cartoons. She went on to earn her degree in Interior Design from Iowa State University before beginning her career in commercial design, where she developed a strong foundation in construction and project management. Drawn to the more personal side of design, Ally eventually made the move to residential interiors, where she loves creating beautiful, thoughtful spaces that grow and evolve with the people who live in them. Outside of the studio, you'll likely find her spending time with her husband and two little ones, exploring new parks, or checking out the latest coffee spot.
CLAIRE SPORER
INTERIOR DESIGNER
Claire was first drawn to interior design while watching her parents build their home, fascinated by the creativity and thought that went into every decision. After initially pursuing a career in healthcare, she followed that interest back to school for interior design and went on to work at residential design firms in Chicago before joining MBI. She loves the early stages of a project, dreaming up the vision and creating timeless, inviting spaces with plenty of personality, color, pattern, and, if she has her way, a stripe or wallpaper. Outside of the studio, you’ll find her traveling, spending time on the lake with a Diet Coke, cheering on the Hawkeyes, or hanging out with her family’s two golden retrievers.
HEIDI BORMANN
OPERATIONS MANAGER
Heidi is likely the first friendly face you'll see when you walk into the MBI showroom! With a background in retail and a love for furniture and design, she brings plenty of experience, energy, and a can-do attitude to the team. From keeping daily operations running smoothly to tackling whatever comes her way, Heidi is our go-to for just about everything behind the scenes. She loves the fast-paced, ever-changing nature of her role and being part of the process that brings beautiful spaces to life. Outside of MBI, you'll find her spending time with friends, planning her next trip, or cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes at a fall tailgate.
MAURA TIMMERMAN
MARKETING MANAGER
Maura is usually behind the camera, planning the next photoshoot, or finding a new way to share what’s happening at MBI. With a background in graphic design and magazine photoshoots, her role is the perfect blend of her creative experience and a longtime love of interiors that began with constantly rearranging her childhood bedroom. She loves capturing our designers’ work, sharing the spaces they create, and learning more about the industry along the way. When she’s not collecting content, she’s probably saving something to Pinterest, planning a trip around the restaurants, cheering on Iowa State, or grabbing a brown sugar shaken espresso.
BRIELLE ALLEN
INTERIOR DESIGNER
Brielle's story with MBI started back in college, when she first interned with Meghan and discovered her love for residential design. A graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in Interior Design, she also spent a semester studying in Rome, where her appreciation for art and design history grew. After beginning her career in commercial design, Brielle found her way back to residential interiors, where she loves the creativity, variety, and personal connections that come with each project. Her favorite part? Seeing the excitement on clients' faces when their homes come together. Outside of the studio, Brielle is a mom to three daughters who share her love for all things creative. You'll usually find her spending time with her husband and girls, heading out for a family bike ride, or enjoying a cozy movie night at home.
