Join the team! Meghan Blum Interiors is seeking a full-time interior designer who is eager to pursue their passion for creating beautiful spaces for their clients. Have a hand in all things design in a fast-moving and highly creative work environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent creative thinking skills and be able to create designs based on conversations with a client. The candidate should be confident communicating regularly with the client in order to assess their needs and be able to adjust a given approach based on feedback. The candidate should maintain familiarity with the interior design landscape and trends in order to provide the best ideas for clients.

Responsibilities

• Work towards sales goals determined by MBI

• Create attractive designs and layouts for various projects

• Meet with the client in order to understand the client's objectives, budget, and desires

• Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and our team in order to address client's needs

• Project management for own clientele- maintain organized notes of all quotes and information pertaining to the project

• Prepare presentations (3D, 2D,mock-ups and renderings) for clients

• Create quotes for clients and ensure full workflow is followed

• Maintain industry knowledge in order to stay relevant

• Assist with promotion of the store to include some after-hour events, community involvement, and general promotion of self and store

 

Other Responsibilities

• Answer phones and greet visitors

• Maintain library of resources & meet with sales reps

• Maintain the showroom- clean, rearrange, refresh, etc. General upkeep of the store.

• Assist in freight damage and claim processes

• Warehouse coordination

• Arrange deliveries and installation- work with subcontractors and install team

• Place and track orders

• General filing and document organization

• Participation in some after-hour work functions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in design or related field preferred

• Must be local to Des Moines, IA area

• Strong creative and communication skills
