A home is more than just a place—it’s a living, breathing reflection of the people who inhabit it. Over time, as families grow, personal tastes evolve, and life seasons shift, even the most thoughtfully designed homes continue to transform. The Blum Tudor, Meghan’s personal residence, is a testament to this gentle evolution.

The side-by-side photos below show the evolution of the living room over a few years. The sofa, chairs, and side tables remain the same while pillows, artwork, accessories, and lamps have changed overtime. Meghan's current living room (seen photo above) has added floral draperies with brass french return rods, a colorful Oushak style rug, glass-tiered coffee table, and patterned Chaddock ottomans.

When Meghan and her family first moved into their charming Tudor-style home, it was the architectural details and historic character that spoke to her designer’s heart. The bones of the home—its stately millwork and timeless layout—provided a beautiful and classic foundation. But like all good design, the interiors have never remained static.

Instead, they’ve evolved with her. As Meghan’s style has matured and her family’s needs have changed, so too has the home. Where neutral, bold patterns once energized the living room, now rests a palette of rich textures and curated softness with feminine touches. Through it all, the home’s integrity and architectural soul have remained unchanged—serving as a steady backdrop to each new chapter.

For the kitchen, Meghan has added faux Roman Shades to the windows and new lamps and accessories to refresh the space. The white walls and cabinets with neutral marble and brass details acts as the perfect backdrop to layer any style of accessories. One piece that Meghan views as a staple in her kitchen- her oversized bone-inlay island tray. The grayish-blue and white striped pattern brings in the color of the room while being large enough to hold vases filled with flowers and accessories.

This evolution is the heartbeat of design. A well-designed home doesn’t require a full renovation every few years; instead, it welcomes the rhythm of life. Swapping a rug, updating pillows, refreshing drapery, or rethinking accessories can breathe new life into a space. These layers of softness and detail are what give a home its personality—its seasonality, even.

Simple changes like adding new decor can really bring impact to a space. New statues, vase, and artwork bring that emphasis that Meghan likes in a well designed space. Layering a simply, but stately, Chaddock stool brings that extra layer too the entry too.

The pantry received a small but impactful refresh that brought new energy to the space. We added antique mirrored glass subway tile for a touch of vintage charm, layered in graphic artwork for personality, and updated the lighting with pleated coral sconce shades that feel both playful and refined. A few well-chosen accessories completed the look, making the pantry feel as thoughtfully designed as the rest of the home.

Window treatments are often one of the last elements added to a home, but they should never be an afterthought. While they come during the final stages of a project, they are an essential part of the design process and should always be accounted for when envisioning a beautifully finished space. In our own home, I always knew I wanted to incorporate window treatments, but like so many homeowners, we had to be mindful of our budget. It wasn’t until a few years after we moved in that I was able to add the majority of them—but once installed, it felt like the final layer had clicked into place. A thoughtful mix of roman shades, full-length draperies, and remote-controlled blackout blinds in the bedrooms not only brought practicality and privacy, but also added warmth, softness, and a sense of polish to each room. Varying styles of drapery hardware throughout the home add yet another subtle dimension, making every space feel finished and truly lived in.
