The snow this week has really made the days leading up to Christmas feel magical and festive. The whole office is feeling the Christmas spirit and we’ve been working hard to get projects in the right place so we can all enjoy time off with our families for the holidays.
It’s been extra fun to see all of the Christmas and holiday cards from clients and friends arrive in the mail each day. With each delivery, we are reminded of the honor it is to work with the families that we do and have the support from the community that we do. It’s the time of year that we take a breath, reflect and acknowledge all of the beautiful relationships MBI has been able to create and keep. Thank you so much for being part of that, by even reading this blog!
MBI started the holiday season off early with our annual Gather the Girls event in November. We had several local female artisans and makers selling gifts. Ladies came with their friends to get a head start on holiday shopping and enjoy drinks and treats. I love opening the studio up for events, it feels like a second home to share with our community. We got to see so many familiar and new faces at the event and it definitely got us excited for the holiday season.
For my family, we’ve been enjoying holiday events all December long. It’s been a really fun season with all of the kids being old enough to participate and understand Christmas traditions in a really special way. From gingerbread making to our trip to the Christmas tree farm, we’re definitely in the holiday-spirit and the kids can hardly wait for this weekend.
I’ll be hosting family for our Christmas Eve celebration. I’m putting the finishing touches on the decor and menu and feeling grateful. Creating holiday “magic” through decor, food and hospitality is something I look forward to every year and to gather people I love in my home this Christmas feels extra magical.
Of course, I’m also looking forward to Christmas morning with David and the kids. There’s nothing better than getting to surprise and delight little ones after they’ve waited patiently for so long. A snowy Christmas morning at home after a wonderfully full year of work sounds dreamy.
The team at MBI and I are so excited for current projects to continue to take shape in the new year and for new projects lining up for 2023. Every year, I cannot believe the scale and the quality of work we get to accomplish, and every year, it expands. What a blessing. While we will be out of the office this next week, know that we are so very thankful for this business, for our clients and for this community for allowing us to create beauty and excellence in the Des Moines area (and beyond!).
Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
