Built-In Styles 101

Built-in cabinets revolutionize interior design by optimizing space utilization and enhancing aesthetics. They seamlessly merge with the architecture, offering bespoke storage solutions tailored to individual needs. Whether in kitchens, living rooms, or bedrooms, these custom fixtures elevate functionality while adding a touch of sophistication to any space, epitomizing modern interior design ethos. They've varied in sizes and design styles over the years, but one thing has stayed true- they still exist in interior design!

For living rooms, we commonly see a stack like this on the left! A few open shelves and then a countertop with cabinetry on the bottom. You can either do drawers to doored cabinets here!

Not a big fan of accessories? I suggest you opt for door cabinets for storage and leave the top open. You can layer large pieces of artwork, picture lights, and a few more intentional accessories. The cabinets beneath offer ample storage for board games, movies, toys, extra blankets, and even holiday decor!

Moody cabinetry and trim work is becoming more and more popular- we love this look! This is open shelving, which is the perfect option for someone who loves to showcase their collections. We love layering in a mix of books, objects, greenery, and artwork!

To the left is a really unique style of built-in! The geometrical design is visually impressive and an unexpected way to display beautiful accessories. I love the way it juxtaposes with the railing design as well. This is a great example of thinking outside the box & really going for it!

We would love to hear from you which style you like the most of what you have in your home! Leave a comment below!

Cheers, friends!
