Statement Stripes: Bedroom Reveal

We're kicking off the new year with such an inspiring space! My sons, Victor and Harrison, began sharing a bedroom last year and it was so fun to redesign their shared space. They moved into Victor's existing room- he had wallpaper, draperies, a light fixture, and a few furnishings that we kept. I love the bunk bed look and it fits better than two twin beds here.

I wanted this room to feel comfortable and playful, but polished at the same time. Fun furniture silhouettes like the spindle chair upholstered in orange fabric and the drum ottoman bring a youthful feel. I love blue & orange together so this was always going to be the colorways.

When Traditional Home approached me last winter about photographing our home for the holidays, I knew I wanted to finish each space how I always envisioned it. The little details always go the furthest! I had custom lumbar pillows embroidered with their names and I love the way it turned out! The mix of stripes, gingham, and chevron adds such a layer of whimsy to their beds.

The orange and white striped ceiling is one of my favorite design decisions to date! It's painted and of course, we're sharing the paint colors with you! This is such an easy weekend project that brings an extra layer of drama to your space!

My son, Victor, created this beautiful piece of artwork and it was featured in the Des Moines Art Festival! I got it framed and I love the way it worked in his bedroom.

Designer tip: I suggest adding those special touches to the more intimate spaces of your home. Homemade art from the kids is such a sweet way to make it personal. Get it framed to match our decor for a designer finish.

For the bunkbeds, I linked the exact bed in a similar finish below! I will also link a few other items that you can shop on LTK!

I encourage you to tackle that space in our home that has been on your mind! And approach it with flavor! You will not have regrets about being authentic and unique in your designs!
