Designer Diaries: Harry’s Bedroom Walls

I’ve been trying to decide on the wall treatment for Harrison’s room for a while. Whatever it ends up being needs work in the space for a long time—can you imagine having to strip and replace wallpaper in a child’s room every few years? Not happening. So it has to be a pattern that is cute for a little boy and also works in a teenager’s room. Not an easy task. I also want it to last aesthetically. With the age and style of our house, I want the rooms to work with the house, not against it. A more timeless design is best for the transitional style we’re implementing here.

I think I’ve officially chosen what Harry’s wallpaper will be. It’s a stripe with a little extra personality. I’ve seen it look more traditional and I’ve seen it styled with modern elements too. It’s the Acanthus Stripe from Schumacher. I’ve loved it for a long time and I think it will be the perfect pattern for Harry now and later.
